The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has a strong presence in Mexico and is represented by the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). FAS leads USDA’s trade and market development efforts through its Offices of Agricultural Affairs (OAA) and Agricultural Trade Office (ATO).
Located at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, FAS also has an office in Guadalajara (OAA) and an ATO in Monterrey. These offices work together to support U.S. agricultural exports, provide market intelligence, promote U.S. food and agricultural products, and strengthen trade relations between the United States and Mexico. To further support USDA’s mission in Mexico, APHIS and FSIS work to protect the health and value of American agriculture and natural resources from products entering into the United States, and work with trading partners to adhere to U.S. food safety science-based regulations.

Único Sabor Americano was created to make it easier for people in Mexico to recognize and enjoy the wide variety of high-quality, healthy, and delicious foods and beverages imported from the United States. While many already know that U.S. products are trusted worldwide for their quality, it’s not always obvious which items on store shelves actually come from the U.S. That’s where the brand comes in.
More than just a label, Único Sabor Americano celebrates the connection between Mexico and the United States. By highlighting cultural elements that both countries share, the brand helps people see U.S. foods as part of their daily lives. The goal is to show that American products can seamlessly complement local traditions and flavors, offering variety, nutrition, and inspiration in everyday meals. In doing so, Único Sabor Americano promotes not only great products, but also the strong bond between our two nations.
